Getting Art on the Walls in this New House

I got my metal posie at the local antique market.
When Mark put it on the wall it looked rather lonely. We pondered a few things and then I made him hang it inside a frame...
I had a cabinet door in the garage waiting for a crafty project and next thing you know I've got a masterpiece. Or maybe not quite, but I like it.

So I spray painted the whole thing black. Then taped off with the blue tape my stem and the fram part. Then spray painted the exposed part Valspar Mediterranean Gloss. Took some craft paint and add Polka Dots and such and Viola'

Sydney's First Chucks

She grew out of these approx. a year and a half ago and I think I'lll keep them forever.
They are the cutest little things.

Craft Room in Progress

I'm hoping that the completion of this room will inspire me to do some great new things.
I have to finish and organize, organize, organize.

Listening to Construction at 7am.

I love my new house.
I love love my neighbors.
I don't love that they are building other homes next door and across the street....starting at 7 in the am.

With the move and the stress I've put 14lbs (as of the morning) back on. Makes me want to kick my own ass. Anyway, off to weight watcher tonight. Dammit.

Future Craft Room

I'm way too excited about my future craft room. It's gonna be marvelous and beautiful. Guess I'll have to take up crafting!

Right Before We Moved in

Our house was a Parade Home this is before we moved in.

So.... we moved.

Well the last month and a half have been life changing. We took our house off the market in May and a week later someone put an offer down on it. We were shocked and excited....and a little sad really. We had just fully excepted that our old little country house was going to stay our house...maybe forever. Then everything changed.
We went out looking for homes and I had in the back of my mind that I really wanted a new construction home to call my own. Something only I have lived in. When we walked inside this house I was sold immediately.
We put an offer in and it was excepted and now it's ours!
You get to watch me decorate over the next year!

Are You Happy

'For Sale' Sign

We've given up.
Completely.
The house has been on the market for 1 full year.
Lately absolutely no showings.
So the contract with our Realtor expires in 3 days and we are through.
I think our house is shop worn.
People have seen it on the market too long.
People also aren't interested in 10 acres these days,
so it seems.
We've got some projects to work on (including that sad front lawn) and we'll re-evaluate next spring.
I'm OK with it.
I was looking forward to moving back to a neighborhood with the Syd but this is OK too.
 We've got great neighbors.
Sadly no children nearby though.

I love Spring.

I'm thinking this pic is from apt therapy.
I like the words on the wall next to the door.
I could use that reminder somedays.

Dear Mark

I love you with all of my heart (more than Cheesecake.) I am very happy you wanted to help and put the dishes away out of the dishwasher this morning but 7 am is way too early for the banging of dishes. Our bedroom is approx. 12 ft from the dishwasher. Anyway please put the laundry away now that I'm up.
Your Loving Wife,
Kelly

The Shoes Have Arrived

They aren't as orange as I thought they'd be but they are still marvelous.

My New Shoes

These are my treat to myself for being down 30lbs.
I ordered them yesterday from Zappos and because that place rocks so much I should get them today.
Hopefully I like them as much in person (and on my big feet) as I do in the photos.

What I did on my day off.

Well after my Doctor Appointment yesterday I went to Old Navy and Target. Ended up getting all Sydney's summer clothes shopping done. Took a picture as a reminder to myself that she has enough clothes for summer now. NO. NEED. FOR. MORE..... Well maybe a couple more Church dresses.....

Buying clothes for mini-me is a problem I have. Since I'm not at a point in my weight loss where I want to buy a single thing for myself, I end up buying too much for the munchkin.

I made a deal with myself that since this much came into the house this equal number of things must go out! I quickly started this task this A.M. when Syd woke up. Now off to finish.

Moments of Insanity

I thought I would NEVER want another fixer upper.....

I think this house is speaking to me. It was built in 1973. It doesn't appear that they changed anything,..at least not for the better.
It's got over 2000 sq ft with a finished basement to equal 3700 sq ft.
Mark thinks I'm nuts. Here is the kicker... I think with some serious TLC we could have the space we need for cheap. It's in a great neighborhood with the house around the corner selling for 150,000 dollars MORE than this (149,000 versus 299,000 for other house)
It's ugly all the way around but never far from my mind.....because I'm insane.

I Have a Collection

I started buying olive pitchers when we lived in our old house.
Everytime I saw one I snatched it up.
I've only got 6, but they are still some of my favorite things. All different and still the same.
