Monogrammed Canvas

I've had a 18"x24" canvas hanging around my house for a while.
It was Aqua with some Scrap Book Paper Mod podge to it for a while.

I peeled of as much off the scrap book paper as possible then decided the extra texture it gave was A-OK for me (ie. I got sick of peeling off the stuff)
So I had a wooden H monogram (which is now hanging out on my mantel)
I traced in the middle with a Sharpie and then a Paint Pen.
Then painted it in with Black.

Wow we got a little Splatter paint happy here.

I had Like 5 tubes of different shades of Aqua that I used to cover back up a lot of that black.

To get the scallops I took a cup and ran a piece of tape across the middle then used that tape line to line up the cup on the edge and trace scallops.

I like how I just put the thing down on top of all that crap sitting on the counter and got to work. No clean work space for me. I covered the whole thing with mod podge when I was done. Not sure why but it looked good to me.

Living Room on Any Given Day

This is what my living room looks like most the time.
 Only usually it's messier.
That blur is Syd in a Rapunzel dress and a stocking cap.
She's a Dancing Princess.

Bacon Egg and Toast Cups

This was supper tonight.
It's What I had.


Ingredients:
6 Eggs
6 pieces of Bacon
Shredded Cheese
6 pieces of Bread


To Make:
Preheat oven to 400.
Cook bacon in skillet until almost crispy....but not quite.
Take a round drinking glass and (3 to 4" across it's opening) and use is as a cutter for the bread. (cutting bread into circles.
Throw out crusts.
Line greased muffin pan with bread.
Wrap cooked bacon around each muffin cup (between bread and the wall of the cup)
Put a little shredded cheese in each cup (on top of bread)
Break egg and discard about half of the egg white pour the rest over cup.
One egg (most of an egg) per cup.
Bake in oven for 10 minutes.
Salt and Pepper
Yum.

Spiced Blueberry Muffins.

You know those little half sized magazine recipe pamphlet thingies in the check out lane at the grocery store?
I got a bisquick one last week (or probably last month)
I found a simple Blueberry muffin recipe in it and made it today.


Ingredients:
2 cups Bisquick
2/3 cups milk
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter (melted)
1 egg
3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
3/4 blueberries (fresh or frozen)


Directions:
Preheat oven to 400
Grease or add paper cups to muffin pan
Mix all ingredients except blueberries
Add in Blueberries
Split batter among the 12 muffin cups.
(about 1/4 cup batter in each cup is pretty even)
Bake for 17 to 20 minutes.
Until golden Brown of course.
Cool on rack.
Good.
But not the best.

Old Brass Lamp Made New.

I bought the lamp for 5 dollars at The Salvation Army.

Got the parts I didn't want painted taped of.

Only picture I had of this is via Camera Phone and my house (background) was a disaster. Boo.

oh well.

Primed and Painted.

Used Valspar Mediterranean Spray Paint

(after white primer)

The Lamp Shade that came with is originally was pretty abused and I decide to get a new one.

Kind of a linen looking one from Lowes.

I think it was $20 bucks,

Not a steal but that's OK because I woulda spent so much more on a new lamp.

And I prefer my Kelly original :)

I Love my Polka Dots.
The round foam brushes were in my craft room and made perfect little polka dots.
That's my Target Gnome. He gets to stay inside!

Paint Chips

I've started keeping all these paint chips I bring home from
 Lowes and Home Depot.
They actually come in handy since we are in the early stages of painting the beige out of this house.
Then I can go through them and get some inspiration on what should go in these rooms of mine.
