Cute Side Table Redo

I bought this little table at the Salvation Army a while ago.

I don't remember how much I paid....

She was water damaged and chipped.

I sanded her down and left her sitting in the barn at the old house forever.

Finally painted and put her in my craft room.

She's cute.

She is hanging out next to my sewing table.
She likes it there.

Keeping Calm

I got this wall decal from here.
It's the first thing I see when I come down the stairs in the morning.
I've got a sick kid that appears to have the flu (although she got her flu shot)
She feels crummy.
I swear I'm starting to feel sick too.
I'm trying to keep calm and carry on right now.

Just the Frame Please

I'm a frame addict. Like so many others I'm sure!

I bought this a while ago at the Salvation Army.

Price: ?

Cheap I'm sure.

The thing was falling apart.

A teenager in the check-out line told me how beautiful the painting was.

And I remember feeling guilty because I had NO interest in that painting! 

Anyhow I removed said painting and painted the frame the ever popular (for now) and my personal favorite color...AQUA

I love that color...

And my Syd's first Chucks. I'll keep forever.

I'd have them bronzed if I could :)

I Could Save the World

I got the plate at a little shop in St. Joe, MI last summer.
I love it.
It resides in my Craft room.

Barbecue Chicken Pizza

Ingredients:

2 chicken breasts

Barbecue sauce

thin crust Boboli pizza crust

onion 

mushrooms

mozzarella cheese

1. Bake the chicken in the oven safe dish (covered front and back with barbecue sauce) at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.

2. Chop baked chicken into small pieces

3. Put thin layer of barbecue sauce on crust

4. Mozzarella cheese on top

5. Chicken on top of that

6. Mushrooms and onions sliced and on top of chicken

7. Little more mozzarella

8. Bake @ 450 degrees for 10 minutes.

SO GOOD

Poor Little Sicko.

Sydney's Doctor thinks she has Croup.
She is Coughing (Barking Really) and has some ginormous tonsils.
She is enjoying her Boo Boo Buddy and some time on the couch.

Hiding those Ugly Cords!

This is what I've been staring at for the past 2 plus months.
See this for a description of why an entry table is our TV stand!
That bird's nest of cords DRIVES ME NUTS!
 Why cant everything be wireless.

So I talked Mark into helping me hunt for a solution to the ugliness.

He's such a good sport.

The bead board cost $9 at home depot.

 Mark cut it down a little and drilled cord holes.

It was already primed so it was good to go for some paint.

I painted with a couple coats of Glidden Deepest Aqua paint I got free in a give away last year. Glidden is pretty cheap paint actually and it's really not bad.
I painted my daughters room using Glidden Ballet Slipper Pink (I usually go with Behr) Anyway I was pleasantly surprised.
Not nearly as many color options though.
Anyway back to my TV Cabinet.
I'm really happy with the results. 
I realize I put cottage-y bead board on a contemporary cabinet but that's how I like it!

Oh yeah and we moved the TV to the other side of the fireplace in case you are wondering what looks different.

Silicon Muffin Cups

I used those Silicon Muffin cups (which I bought at World Market) for the first time yesterday.
And THIS recipe from allrecipes.com
I'm a fan.
Of both the recipe and the muffin cups.
I thought I overcooked them but they were darn good. 


The only negative about the cups is washing them afterwards.
But it's not hard to do...
