Master Bedroom. Trying to decide on a headboard.

I have gone without a headboard for over 5 years.

 It drives me nuts.

 The problem is that I cant settle on something to fix it. A traditional headboard, a door, making something out of old wood, and on, and on.

There are too many options!

My Ikea Nightstands.

I like them.
I want to change out the knobs.

I got that print at world market.

 It reminded me of my trips to Ireland.

Why can't good alarm clocks be cuter...

My little pip squeak lamp from Ikea. It's to small but I had to replace a lamp Sydney broke and ended with this out of the craft room.

I made April's Taco Squares today.

I missed a key ingredient.

Cheese...

It was supposed to be on the inside off those crescent pockets.

I didn't realized until they were already in the oven and there was NO WAY I was going to go without cheese so with 8 minutes left on the timer I just dumped some on top.

They turn out dang good!

One HUGE bonus about doing this wrong was that the cheese formed some burned cheese "chips" on the parchment paper.

It was tasty!

Things I Bought During My Week Long Stay-cation...

I have been off of work for 1 week.

Sydney has been in daycare for that week.

This has been the best Vacation ever (or stay-cation I've heard it called)

 My buddy Tammy and I went to an awesome little shop in Grand Rapids MI called REBEL RECLAIMED.

It was so cool. 

Got the Dish towel there and the Glass jar.

I love that Glass Jar.

Was thinking of somehow using that towel (which is quite large) as a curtain in my kitchen.

It was made by a local artist in G.R.

 I drank 2 Chai Tea Lattes this week.

My Favorite!

 I happened across an Estate Sale this morning and found the Fire King Plate and I don't know what that linen is. It's folded in half and has the same strawberries on the other end. Table Runner? 

I went to drop off a box of donate stuff at the local christian thrift store and had to go inside.

Found another frame. What color should I paint it??

Also a vintage pillow slip. I think my mom had those sheets when I was a kid.

I have to ask her if she still has any of that stuff.

 Also went to Big Lots for the first time in??? 

It was fun.

Found some cheap canvases (is that spelled right) to get crafty on and a cute blue plastic "stuff" holder.

 I also happened upon these chips this week.

They are Good Stuff.

I have to go back to work tomorrow.....

I Spent the Weekend Painting.

I painted the spare Bedroom this weekend.

It was beige.

Very Beige.

Even the ceiling.

I hated it.

 First of all.

To Paint...the number one ingredient for me is a 32 ounce Diet Coke.

In a foam cup.

It's a must.

I also had a book (CHILD 44)
That I downloaded from Itunes.
That made painting way more interesting.

 I painted the Ceiling Behr Flat Ultra White.

It definitely is ULTRA WHITE.

I love it.

The Wall paint is Behr Eggshell.

River Rock.

I was afraid it was too baby blue.

Still a little afraid..

Here it is all done.

 Mark put all the Switch plates back on whilst I pondered the Shutters as a design statement.

I think the Black up against the wall makes the wall a little less BABY BLUE and more grey.

It WILL work.

I'll have more pictures up when it's all prettified.

Well, It is scary to me.

I stole tables from the room for the garage sale and well it was a mess anyway.

I'll clean it tomorrow....or tuesday.

Wednesday for sure.

What's In My Purse....

Hello Hello!

So Today I have the day off and Syd the Kid is at daycare.

Was I productive....NO

Was supposed to be having a garage sale but you wont believe this...

I sold almost everything in 2 hours yesterday.

It was flippin' crazy!

So today I had a day off.

I paid Bills and Took Pictures of the contents of my purse.

And I started watching that Mildred Pierce Series on HBO.

Kinda Boring.

But I LOVE KATE WINSLETT.

Anyway Here's the Goods:

1 year old from Schaumburg, IL Fossil Store.

Love this purse cuz it does the whole cross body thing.

I can't keep purses up on my shoulder for some reason so crossbody is my favorite.

Here's is all the stuff I took out of it.

Everything except a couple receipts I threw away.

I can't believe there were no tampons...or diapers.

That could be a problem.

Working on a Garage Sale

I really am still inspired!
Just preparing for my garage sale on Thursday thru Saturday.
Something about cleaning out the old has given me all sorts of ideas for sprucing up the stuff I'm gonna keep!

My Favorite young ladies came over today to help me price and set up all this STUFF.

Tammy (middle) is the garage sale Nazi.

She Rocks.

They did so much for me today.

I took them out to Olga's for Lunch afterwards.

Or actually I can but they don't stay.

What We've Been Up To

We've been in Vegas for Mark's Sister's Wedding.

She got married at the Valley of Fire State Park.

It was Beautiful.

She was beautiful.

She wore her wedding dress around Vegas all night after the wedding.

I think they had a blast.

I bet she was glad to get that thing off at the end of the night!

We didn't get to participate in all that fun...

We were at LV urgent care with a sick Sydney twice in the 3.5 days we were there.

Strep Throat.

Then some sort of High Fever producing Virus.

Poor Kid.

Poor Daddy.

Ended up changing our flight and leaving a day early because we were fed up.

I could have kissed the floor when we finally walked in the door of our house at 2am Monday.

Delayed Flight, Turbulence, Complain Complain Complain.

We are home safe and sound and for that I am thrilled.

I found a frame that will fit this odd sized print at Meijer. It was only 8 dollars on clearance.
The print is 11" x 17"
Frame is....
It fits.
That's the important part.

Speaking of ETSY I was watching The United States of Tara (Showtime) tonight and they were making headbands to sell on ETSY.
Made me smile.
I love Etsy.


I've been sick for a week. Cough and Cold stuff...nothing spectacular. Enough to take all energy out of me.
Got the house clean (well cleaner)for the first time since the beginning of the sickness today.
I must be feeling better.
Although now I'm nauseated.
Yes I complain a lot.


I'm getting my hairs did tomorrow and kinda want to copy Gussy's Style and get bangs for the first time in a decade. I kind of have her Curl going on so it could work.
My beautiful but much older coworker pointed out that I'm getting a boat load of Gray hairs. She sucks.
I'll fix it (not that she sucks but that my gray will be gone.)
oh and
She really doesn't suck. Just when she points out things I want to ignore.
Must go to bed and hopefully sleep off this tummy ache.

Monogrammed Canvas

I've had a 18"x24" canvas hanging around my house for a while.
It was Aqua with some Scrap Book Paper Mod podge to it for a while.

I peeled of as much off the scrap book paper as possible then decided the extra texture it gave was A-OK for me (ie. I got sick of peeling off the stuff)
So I had a wooden H monogram (which is now hanging out on my mantel)
I traced in the middle with a Sharpie and then a Paint Pen.
Then painted it in with Black.

Wow we got a little Splatter paint happy here.

I had Like 5 tubes of different shades of Aqua that I used to cover back up a lot of that black.

To get the scallops I took a cup and ran a piece of tape across the middle then used that tape line to line up the cup on the edge and trace scallops.

I like how I just put the thing down on top of all that crap sitting on the counter and got to work. No clean work space for me. I covered the whole thing with mod podge when I was done. Not sure why but it looked good to me.
